LUMENAURA ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: BRITTANY HARTHAN

Brittany Harthan will be joining LUMENAURA as a fabricator and teaching artist. She specializes in biophilic design and is drawn to unique and sensory-based materials, textures, and elements. Otherworldly touches to the festival include custom LED cloud designs, glowing space meadows, geometric sculptures, and other sensory-based pieces. These elements and a scavenger hunt will help guide visitors through Aurora for October.

Brittany will also support a student-led activation of Aurora's third-floor gallery space at 20 E. Downer Place. Students in Aurora participating will showcase their design-build glowing sculptures using chicken wire, a light source, and complimenting materials of their choice, and blueprints/patterns will be created with some available to the public.

Brittany is an experiential educator specializing in fostering connections through nature, art, community care, and design. She is a horticulturalist, fabricator, welder, floral/landscape designer, photographer, and program developer. She believes in creating, leading, and learning through curiosity and experimentation.
