Installations below are on display from October 4 - November 1 unless otherwise noted.

THE SONIC RUNWAY is a light-art installation that converts audio signals into patterns of light that shoot down a 400 ft corridor of 23 LED-lined arches at the speed of sound. At the front of the Runway, the observers see musical sound waves rippling away from them. Walking down the corridor, sound and light are always in sync. Looking back from the far end, walkers can see the sound waves coming at them, and hear the music as the pattern reaches them. THE POOL is a giant field of concentric circles that swirl with light when activated by touch. Inspired by Australian tidal pools, artist Jen Lewin developed technology and code to bring this experience around the world. Using mesh-network technology and custom code, visitors can activate platforms that respond to touch—encouraging participation in an ever-changing composition. THE POOL has traveled to over sixty exhibition venues in more than twenty countries in the past thirteen years, including Abu Dhabi, Beijing, Hong Kong, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Lisbon, Los Angeles, Mexico City, New York City, Prague, Shanghai, Sydney, and Taipei. EXPOSURE allows the visitor to create light lines on part of the sphere by moving a light source. A selfie appears if the source illuminates the subject. EXPosure consists of 3 self-inflating reinforced vinyl spheres: The main interactive sphere has a diameter of 5m and 2 illuminated ones of 2.5m and 2m respectively. The main sphere is equipped with a small computer camera and video projector which makes it possible to capture light, modify it, and re-broadcast it on the wall of the sphere in light painting format. SHADOWING is a public artwork that uses technology to enhance the presence of individuals within urban settings. Originating from a response to the 2014 Playable City award, which aimed to foster connections and playfulness in cities rather than solely focusing on the ‘smart city’ narrative, Shadowing emphasizes the essence of being amidst others in urban environments. In tracing the movements of people as they walk under the lamp, the project also draws reference to the ubiquitous digital surveillance that fills our cities. In this interpretation of the work, the lamp reveals the surveillance gaze that blankets most cities. Created by Chomko & Rosier | Distributed by Wireframe | Public Art Agency

PROJECTION MAPPING to be designed for Aurora’s G.A.R. Museum, for display every weekend of October 2024. Additional projection mapping installations will be on display October 11 -13.
