Ward 3 Alderman Ted Mesiacos
Ted Mesiacos was born on the east side of Aurora to working class immigrant parents from Greece. His education began with Our Lady of Good Counsel Elementary School, followed by Waldo Middle School and East Aurora High School.
He went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana), and a Master's degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois (Chicago).
Since 2006, he has also been the owner and operator of his own architectural design firm with an office in downtown Aurora.
Ted Mesiacos holds licenses with the State of Illinois as an Architect and Interior Designer. He has also attained USGBC LEED Green Associate accreditation. He has been a member of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials and is also a member with the American Institute of Architects and National Council of Architectural Boards. As a life-long resident of the 3rd Ward, Ted and his wife, Kate (a former SD 131 School Teacher) are raising their two young children right next door to the home his father purchased in 1961.
Alderman Ted Mesiacos was a member of the Aurora Plan Commission, Aurora Zoning Board of Appeals and the Rotary Club of Aurora. He currently serves on the Fermilab Community Advisory Board and is a member of Congressman Bill Foster’s (IL-11) Immigration Advisory Committee. He has served on the Government Operations (GO), the Building, Grounds and Infrastructure (BGI), and the Finance Committees. Currently, he serves as the Vice Chairperson on the Infrastructure and Technology (I&T) Committee and the Public Health, Safety and Transportation (PHST) Committee.
Alderman Mesiacos was first elected as the 3rd Ward Alderman in April 2013.
myAURORA 311 is live!
myAurora 311 allows residents to access a new online customer support center, a new mobile application, available for download in the App Store and Google Play, an upgraded phone service, and an enhanced in-person customer service location, set to open in late 2025.
With new calls and cases expected, the City's current in-person customer service call center, located at 3770 McCoy Drive, will also expand its hours, now being open from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M., Monday through Friday!
The system allows customers to submit cases, such as street maintenance and repair requests, garbage or debris issues, unsafe structures, and more through the mobile app, online, or by dialing “3-1-1" when residing within City limits.
