Jonathan Núñez is a lifelong Auroran, public servant, and advocate for inclusive community growth. The son of Samuel and Patricia Núñez and one of six children, he was raised in Aurora’s historic Pigeon Hill neighborhood. His mother’s family — the Vera family — arrived in Aurora in 1917, becoming one of the city’s earliest Mexican American families.
Educated in Aurora through and through, Jonathan attended Archbishop Romero Catholic School and East Aurora High School before earning his Marketing degree from Aurora University — a journey that deepened his connection to the community at every stage.
Professionally, Jonathan built a career in business development and consulting, supporting small businesses across the country. His experience gives him a unique understanding of the challenges local entrepreneurs face and the importance of strong, connected communities.
Jonathan lives in the University Neighbors neighborhood with his wife Mariah, their son Mateo, and their two dogs, Weller and Rye.
As a member of city government, Jonathan is committed to open communication, responsive service, and building a city where every resident has the opportunity to succeed.
