Javier Bañuelos is a lifelong resident of Aurora, Illinois, with deep roots in the community. He attended schools in District 131 and transferred during his freshman year to District 204, graduating from Waubonsie Valley High School. He later earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University.
Bañuelos has over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, where he earned a strong reputation for compassion, dependability, and a client-centered approach. He currently works at SkinCure Oncology, where he continues his mission of helping others through innovative, patient-focused care solutions.
Above all, family is everything to Bañuelos. He has been married for over 20 years and is a proud father. His son Xavier, a student at Waubonsie Valley High School, fills him with pride and motivation. In 2022, Javier faced the heartbreaking loss of his 16-year-old daughter. Her courage and strength continue to inspire him every day, fueling his empathy, resilience, and commitment to living with purpose.
Bañuelos brings a unique blend of technical expertise, lived experience, and a strong work ethic to everything he does. He is grounded in the values of integrity, and perseverance. For Bañuelos, Aurora isn’t just home, it’s a place he is proud to serve and give back to every day.
Bañuelos currently serves as a member of the Building, Zoning, and Economic Development (BZE) Committee and a member of the Rules, Administration, and Procedures (RAP) Committee.

🍁 Ward 7 Fall Leaf & Brush Program 🍂
Neighbors, the City’s Fall Leaf and Brush Program is underway!
🟤 Bagged leaves will be picked up without a sticker from October 20 through December 5. 🌿 Bundled brush pickup continues until November 7. 🟢 The Yard Waste program (with stickers) also ends December 5.

Join us on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Bethany of Fox Valley (2200 Ridge Ave) for our annual Ward 7 Clean-Up Event. This is a great opportunity to get rid of those larger household items like old furniture, appliances, bikes, and building materials. Let’s work together to keep our neighborhoods clean and welcoming for everyone!
