Edward Bugg has been a resident of Aurora’s Far Southeast side since he and his wife had their home built in 2004.

Since moving to Aurora, Edward has become involved with numerous local organizations. In 2013, he was elected Alderman of Aurora’s Ninth Ward and was re-elected in both 2017 and 2021. Alderman Bugg currently serves as the Chairperson of the Rules, Administration, and Procedures (RAP) Committee, a member of the Finance Committee, and a member of the Public Health, Safety, and Transportation (PHST) Committee.

As Alderman, Bugg has worked with local residents to build a dynamic, vibrant Community and in 2019 Aurora’s Ninth Ward was the #1 Community for Millennials to move to in Illinois to raise a family.

Aside from his role with the City, Edward serves on the Boards of Grace Community Christian Church, The ALIVE Center, and Remington Crossing Homeowners Association. Before moving to Aurora, he served as the Executive Secretary of the Park Forest Community Development Cooperation.

Edward's educational background includes both a degree in Business from Eastern Illinois University and a Law degree from the University Of Illinois College Of Law. He has worked in both the business and legal fields for various levels of government and as the Vice-President of an Arbitration/Mediation firm in the private sector.

Edward and his wife Beth have 3 children. They are involved in the local schools, various sports leagues and volunteer at Feed My Starving Children and the Aurora Inter-Faith Food Pantry.

    The Town Hall, which will take place on Saturday, September 26 from 2:30 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. at the Aurora Public Works Facility, located at 2185 Liberty Street, will consist of a review and discussion surrounding the City’s finalized budget proposal, while building on community input from previous town halls. This session will present the City’s full 2027 spending plan and give residents an additional opportunity to weigh in on the budget before its adoption in December.

    The City of Aurora will be hosting its third annual Fall Food Truck Festival, taking place from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. on Friday, September 25.

    Over 30 food trucks will line up on Benton Street between River Street and Broadway (IL Route 25) in the heart of downtown Aurora, serving a diverse array of culinary delights. From the famous Ricobene’s, Cousins Maine, and Cheesie’s, to a wide variety of cuisine styles, including OVO Plant Based Paradise, Chianti’s Italian Street Food, and Banana Pudding Twist, the Fest is expected to draw thousands from Aurora and the surrounding area.

    Foodies, families, and groups of friends are all welcome to savor the feast of flavors set to be on display. Music and family-friendly activities, such as face painting, balloon animals, and bubble shows, will also be on hand, adding to the evening’s entertainment.
